Having been nominated twice before, the Edith Bouvier Beale of 'Grey Gardens' finally nabs her first win at the 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards.
Another star has taken home the Globe at the 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards. On Sunday, January 17 at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association has named actress
Drew Barrymore as Best Actress in Miniseries or TV Movie for her performance in "
Grey Gardens".
Although the 34-year-old had been been nominated twice before for her roles in 1984's "Irreconcilable Differences" and 1992's "Guncrazy", it is her first win at the Golden Globes.
Unraveled as the winner by
Zoe Saldana and
Sam Worthington, she bested over
Joan Allen,
Jessica Lange,
Anna Paquin and
Sigourney Weaver.
Barrymore's nod added the Globe collection of "Grey Gardens" into two counts. The TV movie has been revealed earlier by
Amy Adams and
Josh Brolin as the winner for Best Mini-Series or TV Movie. Beside the "
Whip It!" actress and her TV movie, actors
Kevin Bacon and
Alec Baldwin also took home a prize each on the special night.
Bacon nabbed the title of Best Actor in Miniseries or TV Movie for his performance in "Taking Chance". Like Barrymore, he received the kudo from presenter Saldana and Worthington. Meanwhile, Baldwin once again nailed Best TV Actor in Comedy or Musical Series kudo. Still, he wasn't present to received the award himself.
Another winner announced on the gala ceremony was "
Up in the Air". The
George Clooney-starring movie was unveiled by "The Bounty" co-stars
Jennifer Aniston and
Gerard Butler as the movie with Best Screenplay. It overshadowed "
It's Complicated", "
District 9", "
The Hurt Locker" and "
Inglourious Basterds".
