While Justin Bartha has laughed off rumor that the 'High School Musical' star has been signed for 'The Hangover' sequel, Efron says joining the cast ensemble 'would be amazing'.
The fact that he hasn't been signed for "The Hangover 2" apparently doesn't stop
Zac Efron from expressing his interest in being a part of the sequel. Talking to Laura Saltman of Access Hollywood on the red carpet of 2010 Golden Globe Awards, the "
17 Again" hunk exclaimed, "That would be amazing."
The 22-year-old admitted that he hasn't "got that call yet" to join the sequel to "
The Hangover". Nonetheless, the actor who is well known for his part as Troy Bolton in the "High School Musical" series stated he would love to join the cast. "I think that they're amazing and I love the cast that they've got going on," he said.
Zac Efron has actually been rumored to have come on board "The Hangover 2". However,
Justin Bartha has set things straight saying, "Someone said that IMDB [the Internet Movie Data Base] or something said [that Zac was going to be in the sequel] and the director, Todd Phillips - I'm gonna quote him when he said, 'IMDB is not the Wall Street Journal. It's written by some fat 15 year old kid in Tampa!' "
While he put off the speculation of Efron taking part in the sequel for now, the Doug Billings depicter has stated that he will welcome the younger actor into the comedy mix. "I love that guy," the 31-year-old actor expressed his thought when asked on 2010 Golden Globes red carpet. "He's actually really funny."
