Helping to raise funds for the country devastated by earthquake, the 'Wizards of Waverly Place' actress has stated on her Facebook page she would participate in a telethon organized by George Clooney.

Selena Gomez is among the latest celebrity lending hands to those in need in Haiti after the country was struck by massive earthquake on January 12. The 17-year-old actress recently announced that she will participate in "Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief" via her Facebook account.
Gomez, who is famous for her role as Alex Russo on the Disney Channel hit show, stated on her Facebook page that she will be on the phones for two hours on Friday evening, January 22. "I will be on the phones during
George Clooney & Joel Gallen's Hope for Haiti Now telethon this Friday from 5pm to 7pm PST," she announced.
The "
Princess Protection Program" star continued stating she was honored to be able to participate in the telethon to raise funds for the devastated country. "I am so honored to be an active participant in this amazing fund raising event," she shared, before encouraging her fans to tune in and help the victims of the earthquake in Haiti.
The "Hope for Haiti" telethon will be aired on every major U.S. TV networks as well as CNN worldwide on Friday, January 22, starting at 5 P.M. PST.
