In addition to the snippet, a series of new stills from the rock 'n' roll biopic has also been shared, offering a better look at the other members of the band as well as at other characters.
The first encounter between Dakota Fanning's Cherie Currie and Kristen Stewart's Joan Jett in "The Runaways" has been offered through a brand new clip. Nearly two minutes long, the sneak peek at the rock 'n' roll biopic witnesses the time Michael Shannon's Kim Fowley introduced the two teenagers.
The particular scene takes a look at the time the record producer approached Currie in a bar to persuade her in joining his new all-girl band. After throwing several questions and praises to Currie with Jett standing nearby, he at one point in the clip is heard saying, "We are choosing you to be a part of rock-n-roll history."
The clip isn't the only new promo brought forth in anticipation of the movie's premiere at 2010 Sundance Film Festival. A number of fresh images were also put out. While most of the stills center around Currie and Stewart, they still manage to give out a better look at the other band members, Scout Taylor-Compton's Lita Ford, Stella Maeve's Sandy West and Alia Shawkat's Robin.
"The Runaways" centers its story around a '70s girl band of the same name formed by Joan Jett and Cherie Currie. It will follow the teenage band as they experience meteoric rise, and chronicle their dissolution and disillusionment. To be dropped in U.S. theaters on March 19, it will be premiered at the 26th Sundance Film Festival on Sunday, January 24.
