A lawsuit has been filed against the 'Assassination of a High School President' actress after she failed to pay three months worth of rent on her $7,000-a-month New York City apartment.
Having just reported getting on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" cast's nerves,
Mischa Barton has fallen into another problem. A New York landlord has filed a lawsuit against the 23-year-old actress claiming she has failed to pay three months worth of rent on her $7,000-a-month New York City apartment.
E! Online reported on Thursday, January 21 that M.R.A. Realties had actually attempted to collect the rent money for the TriBeCa apartment, but their efforts were rebuffed by Barton. Tired of the rude rejection, the company decided to file a lawsuit demanding that the actress does not only pay up the rent but also covers the company's legal fees.
Barton primarily lives in Los Angeles, and only planned to temporarily live in Manhattan for her work on the canceled CW show, "The Beautiful Life: TBL". A representative for the Marissa Cooper of "The O.C." has declined to comment on the lawsuit, but did say that the "
St. Trinian's" actress will wrap work on "Law & Order: SVU" just in time for her 24th birthday on January 24.
On the occasion, her rep has also debunked rumor that Mischa Barton while filming her guest-starring role for an episode of "SVU". While Radar Online reported that it took the whole day to shoot one scene because she kept forgetting her lines, the rep stated, "All's gone off without a hitch."
