Talking about what she has in mind for the earthquake victims in Haiti, the August Boatwright of 'The Secret Life of Bees' says, 'If you got a hook up, please get me a couple of Haitian kids.'
Many Hollywood celebrities have come together to raise money for the victims of Haiti earthquake, but
Queen Latifah has thought a different way to help. Making an appearance appeared on "The Today Show" on Thursday, January 21, the Motormouth Maybelle of "Hairspray" reveals her hope of adopting Haitian kids.
"I wanna just go down there and get some of those babies," the 39-year-old songstress opened up when the subject of the devastating earthquake was brought up. "If you got a hook up, please get me a couple of Haitian kids. It's time. I'm ready. I got two arms, I can handle at least two. I can take a third in a backpack, and one in the front, we could just wrap it in some swaddling cloth...give me four."
Sharing her desire to adopt kids is not something new for Queen Latifah. Long before talking about being ready to adopt Haitian kids, the Academy Award-nominee has mentioned about adoption on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show". In 2007, she told host
Ellen DeGeneres, "I want to have and adopt [kids]. I always have, ever since I was 18 I wanted a baby and I wanted to have and adopt because there are a lot of kids."
