Having burned up the stage of the 11th Annual NRJ Music Awards with her 'Russian Roulette' performance, the Barbadian singer slipped off the stage at the end of the song.
Rihanna has experienced a mishap at the 11th Annual NRJ Music Awards. Kicking off the awards show with one fiery performance of "Russian Roulette" on Saturday, January 23, the "Don't Stop the Music" hitmaker has been reported by New York Daily News to have taken a tumble off the platform at the back of the stage.
The backstage incident took place after the 21-year-old singer performed her single off latest album, "Rated R". Although she slipped off the stage, the performer who looked dazzling on the red carpet with her two-tiered floor-length dress that is layered with large crocheted white flowers was said to be left unhurt.
Honored with International Female Artist of the Year at 2010 NRJ Awards, Rihanna was one of the performers at the event held at Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France. Performing her new hit single, the Barbados-born singer took the stage in a laced leotard with a fiery stage setting as her background.
Other performers for the night were Jay-Z, Black Eyed Peas, and Kelly Rowland and David Guetta. Jay-Z sung "Empire State of Mind", Black Eyed Peas delivered two of their singles "I Gotta Feeling" and "Meet Me Halfway", while Rowland and Guetta took the stage together for "When Love Takes Over" performance.
