Addressing the particular scene in 'The Runaways', the 'Twilight Saga' beauty insists the kiss isn't as controversial as it sounds as her co-star claims it 'was just a thing, another day'.

The Runaways". While many are buzzing about the particular girl-on-girl kiss, the two actresses, who have been working together in "
The Twilight Saga's New Moon", are both convinced it isn't something they would consider as a big deal.
Talking to MTV News at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, Fanning who takes on the role of Cherie Currie was the first to shrug off the hype surrounding the kiss. "I don't think it was ever a big deal to me," the 15-year-old actress said. She further added that the lip-lock between Currie and Joan Jett "was just a thing, another day" for the characters.
Sounding off similar remark, Stewart who stars as Jett insisted, "It was never a big deal to me either ... especially the way it was written into the story and the way it wasn't, 'And they finally get together.' " She elaborated, "It's like it was just one night, and they have such an awesome bond that's so cool to observe, so the fact that they made out when they were teenagers has nothing to do with it."
"The Runaways" is a biopic that will follow Joan Jett and Cherie Currie as they navigate a rocky road of touring and record label woes. They also have to deal with their abusive manager, all in while their teen years. Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning are joined by Scout Taylor-Compton, Stella Maeve and Alia Shawkat.
The movie is directed and penned by Floria Sigismondi with Jett serving as executive producer. Having been premiered at the 26th Sundance Film Festival on Sunday, January 24, it will be dropped in limited theaters across the U.S. on March 19.
