During an interview at 2010 Sundance Film Festival, the Legolas of 'Lord of the Rings' admits he has contacted producer Peter Jackson and expressed his willingness to join the cast.
Although his "Lord of the Rings" character Legolas has no part in the original story of "The Hobbit",
Orlando Bloom doesn't want to be left out. In an interview with MTV at 2010 Sundance Film Festival, the 33-year-old confessed to have reached out to producer Peter Jackson about possibly of returning.
The Will Turner of "Pirates of the Caribbean" trilogy recalled on his effort, saying "I shot an e-mail to Pete and I said, 'You know, if you want me to don the blonde wig and pointy ears again, I'd be honored to do it.' " On Jackson's response, he further detailed, "He said, 'Well, we'll see.' They're very, very hush-hush."
Asked why he is willing to join the J.R.R. Tolkien's adaptation, Bloom uttered his praises for director Guillermo del Toro. "It's Guillermo's movie and I'm a huge fan of that man," the boyfriend of
Miranda Kerr said. "He's obviously going to take his own idea of it, but I'm excited for that movie. I think it's going to be great."
"The Hobbit" is taken from J.R.R. Tolkien's novel of the same title and is planned to be made into two-part movies. The movies will re-create the scenes of the novel, with additional events that make an impact to "The Lords of the Rings", such as the expulsion of Sauron from Mirkwood by The White Council.
The first of the adventure fantasy movie is scheduled for December 2011 U.S. release, while "The Hobbit 2" is expected to hit theaters a year later. Three "Lord of the Rings" actors,
