Sharing his experience as guest judge on the singing competition, the one-third of Jonas Brothers tells host Ryan Seacrest, 'You have to really be honest.'
Serving as a guest judge on season 9 of "American Idol",
Joe Jonas apparently learns that being frank is better. On Monday morning, January 25, the one-third of the
Jonas Brothers spoke about his experience being on the judging panel to
Ryan Seacrest on the "Idol" host's KIIS-FM radio show.
"[I was] a little nervous at the start because I was kind of afraid I was going to hurt people's feelings," the 20-year-old admitted. "You have to really be honest. At first, you feel bad, because you see these people come through, and they just want it really bad. The first few, I was like, 'Yeah, yeah, yeah, you're great.' Towards like five [people] in, you have to be like, 'I'm sorry, no. This isn't for you.' "
On the occasion, the brother of
Kevin Jonas and
Nick Jonas has also opened up his thought over some of the contestants that left good impression on him. "There were a couple of people that walked through the audition room whose voices were just so different," he said. "I'd never heard anything like it. And I was like, 'Yeah, this guy could totally win it.' "
Joe Jonas has assisted
Simon Cowell,
Kara DioGuardi and
Randy Jackson in judging "American Idol" hopefuls in the Dallas, Texas audition. His episode will be aired on FOX this Tuesday, January 26. He is one of the guest judges tapped to fill in for
Paula Abdul. Other judges include
Victoria Adams,
Mary J. Blige,
Katy Perry and
Shania Twain.
