Brad Pitt Allegedly Makes Secret Purchase of Bachelor Pad

Words on the street are, the 'Inglourious Basterds' star buys the two-bedroom pad because he 'needs somewhere quiet' that doesn't have any memories of Angelina Jolie.

Break-up rumors between Hollywood couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie refuse to cool down. In fact, it has been fueled even more with reports that Pitt has bought himself a bachelor pad in the Hollywood Hills. According to The Daily Mail, the Lt. Aldo Raine of "Inglourious Basterds" has spent $1.1 million on the two-bedroom house which comes also with a cave.

The publication pointed out the 46-year-old actor purchased the house to get over the split. "The house oozes character. Brad has had his eye on it for some time but he decided now was the right time to buy because he wanted a place to call his own," a source explained. "He needs somewhere quiet that doesn't have memories of Angie and where he can be alone and think about what he does next."

Other report related to the split speculation suggested that Pitt's mother, Jane, has stepped in to try to save the relationship. Though she has always favored his son's ex Jennifer Aniston, Jane got close with Jolie for their joint work in setting up a cancer center. She allegedly will make use of her family counselor skills when she meets the "Wanted (2008)" star in Los Angeles sometime next week.

While Pitt, Jolie and their representative remain mum on the split speculations that have been running wild, Howard Stern has just announced on live radio that the stories were true. To Rosie O'Donnell's show "Rosie Radio", he claimed that the couple is "no longer together," insisting that he knows people who confirmed the split.

Adding more fuel to the break-up story, it has been confirmed that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, contrary to earlier reports, won't be attending the 82nd Annual Academy Awards. A source close to the couple told Just Jared, "They will be out of the country during the Oscars. Angie will be busy shooting The Tourist."
