ABC has allegedly proposed the lucrative development deal to secure Abdul's appearance on the dancing competition show without hindering her chance of being a judge on 'The X Factor'.
Paula Abdul could be inching closer and closer to be a judge on "Dancing with the Star". According to TMZ, the former judge of "American Idol" has been presented with an offer of a development deal that worth a reported $1 million by ABC and with a catch that she has to appear on the dancing competition show.
Should the offer report is true, the 47-year-old singer who has a dancing background has to come out with her decision soon. TMZ mentioned that ABC wants her to join the show on its tenth season which will start in March. The site also noted that the proposed deal will still allow her to be a judge on "The X Factor", for which she has been rumored for a while now. ABC's rep declined to comment on potential casting moves.
Paula Abdul has previously expressed her interest in joining "Dancing with the Star", saying she was "hypothetically thinking about it." When she announced her leave from "Idol", executive producer Conrad Green was quick to say the show would welcome her. "It is for Paula to work out," he said. "At the moment, the world is her oyster. Everyone wants her. At our show, we are great fans of Paula."
"Dancing with the Star" aside,
Simon Cowell's fellow judge on talent show "Britain's Got Talent",
Amanda Holden, has uttered her belief that Cowell will be bringing in Abdul to "The X Factor". "My prediction is Simon will bring Paula Abdul out of the toy box and let her play on 'The X Factor' panel," she stated.
