Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves in Tension Over Financial Pact

When the mother of his two kids mentions they need to work out a financial agreement, the 'Fool's Gold' star reportedly exploded and said, 'I'll always take care of our babies - and you!'

Tension is brewing between Matthew McConaughey and girlfriend Camila Alves, if the National Enquirer is to be trusted. The publication reported that the leading man of "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past" was fuming over the fact that his baby mama asked him to work out a financial agreement in case their romance falters.

"Camila's mother is very traditional, and she's worried that since they are not married, Matthew could leave her daughter high and dry with two kids if he falls out of love with her," a source explained. "She's been telling Cam that she needs to force Matthew into a financial agreement, but when Cam brought it up, Matthew exploded. He said, 'I'll always take care of our babies - and you!' "

The publication went on to report that after the outburst, Alves got more pressure from her mother to get McConaughey "to commit to a legal agreement". Her mom allegedly reasoned, "He wanted you to carry his babies - he ought to take real responsibility." Since the 40-year-old actor isn't sitting well with the idea, the pressure created more tension between him and the 26-year-old model.

"It's caused a rift between them, and Matthew's kind of scratching his head over it," the source further stated. "He told me, 'It seems kind of cold, doesn't it?' But he's got to realize that when couples love each other, they usually get married." Despite the report, his publicist denied that the couple is having a problem.

Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves met in 2007. The pair welcomed the arrival of their first child, son Levi Alves McConaughey, on July 7, 2008. Less than a year later on June 21, 2009, the actor revealed that he and his model girlfriend was expecting their second child. On Sunday, January 3, the actor announced the birth of his second child, Vida Alves McConaughey, on his official site.
