Taking the stage at the ASCAP Music Cafe at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, the 'What I Cannot Change' singer introduces the song saying, 'This song is going to make me cry.'
Country crooner
LeAnn Rimes has reportedly sung a song about her ex-husband Dean Sheremet. The 27-year-old singer took the stage at the ASCAP Music Cafe at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah on Monday, January 25 and performed a song that focuses on breaking a man's heart.
Before crooning her new untitled tune, Rimes warned her audience saying, "This song is going to make me cry" and "It's about love". She then proceeded to sing the song, which some of the lines read, "What have I done? I broke the heart of the sweetest man. What have I done? I broke the heart of the only man who's ever loved me. Who have I become? I hope you find someone new, someone who deserves you."
According to a source, the "What I Cannot Change" singer wrote the song while having an affair with current boyfriend
Eddie Cibrian. The statement, however, was slammed by another source who insisted "it was written several years ago before the situation with Dean and the cheating. I can understand how it can be interpreted to be about what happened."
During her performance at ASCAP, the "
Northern Lights" star opened up about her other song titled "God Takes care of Your Kind". She explained, "A friend of mine got divorced about three years and the guy turned into a real *sshole and we wanted to kill him. Everyone gets their heart broken and wants revenge."
LeAnn Rimes and Dean Sheremet, who wed in 2002, divorced in September 2009. She is currently in a relationship with her "Northern Lights" co-star Eddie Cibrian, with whom she had a well-publicized extra-martial affair prior to the split from Sheremet. Cibrian, in the meantime, is in the middle of divorcing wife Brandi Glanville, from whom he has two children.
