Although she is no longer together with ex-husband Deryck Whibley, the 'Girlfriend' hitmaker is still working really well together with him on her fourth album.
Despite the fact that she has filed for divorce on October 9, 2009 after three years of marriage,
Avril Lavigne still has a good working relationship with ex-husband Deryck Whibley. She told
Ryan Seacrest on KIIS FM radio show Tuesday, January 26, "We still work together all the time. He's one of my best friends, and we work really well together and we stay in touch."
The former couple teamed up for Avril's fourth album "Pink Crust" that will be released in June this year. "Deryck has done a lot of production on this album and mixing," the 25-year old singer said, before revealing that the
Sum 41's lead vocalist also helped her on the song she was asked to write for Tim Burton's "
Alice in Wonderland".
Talking about her inspirations in making songs, the guest judge on this season's "American Idol" admitted that Deryck as well as their relationship were the inspirations for most of her songs. "I've been writing this album for awhile now. A lot of the songs are really personal to me and honest," the "Complicated" singer said.
Good relationship with ex aside, Avril Lavigne opened up about her experience as a guest judge on "American Idol". "I am actually really blown away by the talent of the majority of the contestants that I saw. It made it really hard to judge them," she said. "I was really impressed with Simon [Cowell]. ... I didn't think he was mean. I thought he was really smart."
