'We've mutually come to the difficult decision to make this Ugly Betty's final season,' executive producer Silvio Horta and ABC president Steve McPherson confirmed in a joint statement.
Season four of "Ugly Betty" will indeed be the series' last. confirmed that ABC has drawn decision to pull the plug on the drama comedy that made
America Ferrera a star, explaining further that the show will come to its conclusion in mid-April due to its episode order trimming from 22 to 20.
"We've mutually come to the difficult decision to make this Ugly Betty's final season, and are announcing now as we want to allow the show ample time to write a satisfying conclusion," executive producer Silvio Horta and ABC president Steve McPherson revealed in a joint statement. "We are extremely proud of this groundbreaking series, and felt it was important to give the fans a proper farewell."
The cancellation of "Ugly Betty" shouldn't come as a big shock to fans as the show has been plagued with low ratings for quite some time. In fact, hints of the cut has come out since late 2009. Reports at the time suggested that ABC if the ratings don't improve by mid-spring. Though so, the alphabet was still trying to ramp up the ratings by moving it to Wednesday nights.
