As 'Alice (Underground)', the lead single from the soundtrack of Tim Burton's movie, is unearthed, the 'Complicated' singer sends a message from the set of its music video.
Contributing to the soundtrack album of "Alice in Wonderland", Avril Lavigne has unraveled the soundtrack's first track, "Alice (Underground)". The 25-year-old debuted the song she wrote specifically for the Tim Burton-directed movie when visiting Ryan Seacrest on his radio show on Wednesday, January 27.
On the same day, Lavigne took it to her official page to post a video from the set of the single's music video. Offering a look at her black dress, the punk princess who was just seen serving as guest judge on "American Idol" sends a message to fans, saying "This is such a cool project to be part of. I'm very excited to be shooting my music video today. I hope you guys enjoy the music video and the song."
"Alice (Underground)" is produced and mixed by Avril Lavigne's ex-husband Deryck Whibley. Lavigne has described the song, which part of lyrics read "trippin' out, spinnin' around, I'm underground, I fell down", as "a little darker". Its music video is directed by Dave Meyers and is expected to be released in early February.
"Alice in Wonderland" soundtrack album, in the meantime, is entitled "Almost Alice". It compiles songs from several top-notch musicians, such as The All-American Rejects, Tokio Hotel and Franz Ferdinand. 3OH!3 and Metro Station also contributed to the album that will be made available for purchase in stores across the U.S. on March 2.
