Since the 'You Belong with Me' hitmaker will be traveling to Australia directly after the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards ceremony, she won't take a part in the Haitian charity project.
Reports suggesting
Taylor Swift will reunite with
Kanye West for a revival of the "We Are the World" have turned out to be a false one. Instead of recording the song on Monday, February 1, the 19-year-old country crooner will be leaving for her Australian tour directly after the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards ceremony on January 31, Access Hollywood has clarified.
The report of the possible collaboration between the two musicians, who faced off in an at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, was first brought up by Access on Thursday morning, January 28. At the time, they were said to hit the studio together to record the remix of
Michael Jackson and
Lionel Richie-written song for a Haitian charity single.
Access has since updated its story, stating that although Taylor Swift will not lend her voice to the track, a line-up of all-star performers could be expected to participate in the remake.
Miley Cyrus,
Jennifer Hudson,
Will Smith,
Jason Mraz,
Sheryl Crow,
Mya,
Sugarland and
Justin Bieber are among those mentioned.
The original "We Are the Word" track was recorded in 1985 for African famine relief. It featured performances by
Stevie Wonder,
Ray Charles,
Bruce Springsteen,
Tina Turner and
Diana Ross among many others. As for the remake, Showbiz 411 reported it is done to mark the 25th anniversary of the song and all proceeds will go to Haiti relief.
