Matthew McConaughey Banned From Sex After Baby Girl's Birth

Camila Alves, the 'Fool's Gold' star's girlfriend, says the sex break will last for 40 days after the birth of daughter Vida, whose first photo has just been shared by the actor through his website.

Matthew McConaughey has been banned from having sex with girlfriend Camila Alves after the birth of baby girl Vida Alves McConaughey. In a recent interview with Style List, his model girlfriend let out the fact that she's keeping with a Brazilian tradition which gives a mother a 40-day break to recover from giving birth.

The mother of two revealed the sex ban when asked whether she has started her post-baby body routine. "You know, I haven't. Where I come from [Brazil], we believe in something we call a 40-day break after the baby," she explained. "You have to let your body do its own thing. You give it time to recover and let everything settle down."

"In a way, it is nice. There is not so much pressure. You kind of respect all the hard work your body has just done and give it a break," the Brazilian designer went on, before mentioning the no sex rule. "For these 40 days you really take it easy. By that I mean no sex, light, healthy food, no trips to the gym. Then, after 40 days, you are good to go."

While being restrained from sex with her hot leading man for more than a month, the host of "Shear Genius" shared that sex isn't what she misses the most. "I confess, I am getting a little anxious to workout. I miss it," she spilled what she has in mind. "Not just to get my body back in shape, but for me, for my head!"

Sex ban aside, Matthew McConaughey has just shared with the world the first official picture of his baby daughter. The 40-year-old actor brought forth a photo of him, girlfriend Camila Alves and baby Vida through his website. Along with the shot, he wrote, "Our latest family member, Vida Alves McConaughey."

Matthew and Camilla welcomed baby Vida on January 3. "Happy New Year everybody!!! On Sunday, Jan. 3rd at 12:13 A.M., Camila gave birth to a healthy 7lb. 7oz. baby girl named 'Vida Alves McConaughey'...," the "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past" star announced at the time. The first daughter of the couple joins her older brother Levi Alves McConaughey who was born on July 7, 2008.
