Being rumored having an eating disorder, the adopted daughter of singer Lionel Richie slams it by saying it is 'extremely insulting and irresponsible'.
Nicole Richie is infuriated by the swirling speculations that she has an eating disorder. Featured as the cover girl of Marie Claire's March 2010 issue, the Joel Madden's girlfriend slammed the rumors by stating that she is insulted by the accusation. "I felt it was a little unfair to say someone has an eating disorder when they don't," she first opened up.
"It's extremely insulting and irresponsible," the 28-year-old TV personality went on saying. "An eating disorder is serious and it's a disease. I think when you see me in person, you see that I'm, like, five foot one - I'm a small person. When I was heavier, everyone said I was too heavy. You can't win in the public eye and I find it really hard. So I ignore it now, I really do."
Richie sparked concern over possibility of her having eating disorder in 2006. At the time, she was captured looking extremely skinny when she was spotted in a bikini while on the beach. Addressing the matter, she told Vanity Fair, "I know I'm too thin right now. I'm not happy with the way I look right now."
Putting eating disorder rumors behind, Nicole Richie said she's now focusing more on the present time as well as the future. "I'm just one to live in the present and enjoy the time that I'm having," she declared. "Going into my past is just not something that I do." The mother of two added, "Right now I'm just living my dreams."
