Admitting that she still Googles herself sometimes, the 'I Kissed a Girl' singer admits to have learned that boyfriend Russell Brand was going to propose her from the search engine.
Katy Perry was not surprised when her boyfriend
Russell Brand propose to her, claiming that she has learned about his surprise plan from Google. Interviewed on the red carpet of the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, January 31 about her fiance's proposal, the "Hot N Cold" singer said, "Unfortunately, I still Google myself sometimes. I saw it on Google alerts. I'm going to be honest!"
While Katy unraveled to
Ryan Seacrest why she wasn't surprised, Russell reasoned, "I was buying rings!" The British comedian then detailed on his proposal. "There was an elephant involved," he shared. "We were on an elephant just before it. We were in India. It was at midnight, and it is not a good idea to be on the back of an elephant during a fireworks display."
During their joint interview, the newly-engaged couple also joked about whether or not they have set their wedding date. Though so, the two mentioned that they want Ryan to be involved in their future wedding ceremony. "You're the high priest of celebrity culture. You could marry us," the "
Forgetting Sarah Marshall" star told the "American Idol" host.
Coming to this year's Grammy Awards, Katy Perry wore a backless Zac Posen dress and Casadei heels, while Russell Brand wore a light gray suit and black shirt unbuttoned to his navel. Katy Perry was nominated for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for her song "Hot N Cold" but lost to
Beyonce Knowles for single "Halo".
