Showing her support for Haiti relief efforts, the 'Hannah Montana' star makes use of eBay to hold bid contest for the Herve Leger dress she wore on the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards.
Being a part of "We Are the World" remake for Haiti apparently wasn't enough for
Miley Cyrus. The star of "
The Last Song" will once again extend her hands in helping the victims of Haiti earthquake by auctioning off the teal-colored Herve Leger gown she wore to the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday night, January 31.
The "Party in the U.S.A." songstress announced her plan on putting up the dress for Internet bidding war later this week when talking to USA Today. "I'm going to auction it off on eBay afterward for the Red Cross," the 17-year-old teen sensation confessed. She further added, "It's the little things you can do."
As for her participation on the re-recording of the 1985 classic, Miley said, "I think it's really important that everybody come together because disaster relief isn't just now." She added, "It's how we're going to help years from now. We have to restore an entire place. It just can't be one person, one foundation, one group of people. All people have to come together and that's what 'We Are the World' is all about."
Miley Cyrus was actually nominated for Best Song Written For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media for her single "The Climb" at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards. Days after the nominations were announced, however, it was revealed that the song has been disqualified since it wasn't written specifically for "
Hannah Montana: The Movie". The kudo, in the end, went to A.R. Rahman's "Jai Ho" from "
Slumdog Millionaire".
