Evangeline Lilly Done With Acting After 'Lost'

Admitting that she finds acting to be an amazing experience, the Kate Austen of the ABC drama confesses, 'I'm not passionate about acting the way you probably should be to call yourself an actor.'

Evangeline Lilly has brought to light a possibility of her ditching acting after "Lost" wraps season six. The actress known for her role as Kate Austen teased the matter when speaking to Kristin Dos Santos of E! at the season premiere party of the ABC drama in Honolulu on Saturday, January 30.

"Acting is something I appreciate, and I think it's been an amazing experience," the 30-year-old opened up. "But I'm not passionate about acting the way you probably should be to call yourself an actor." She further mentioned that she rather does some work off-screen in film, but she just hasn't "found where that is yet," adding "I don't know if anything has gelled yet. I don't know if it fits."

The Connie James of "The Hurt Locker" added that her post-"Lost" plan includes doing philanthropic work in Rwanda. "I want to have some quiet space," she moreover explained her reasons for quitting acting altogether. "[I want to] drop off the radar a little bit and enjoy a little bit of normalcy again."

Similar move was also taken by Evangeline Lilly's co-star on "Lost", Matthew Fox. Though so, the Jack Shephard depicter only mentioned that he's done with TV. "I think this will be the last time you see me on TV," he stated. "I'm either going to do the kind of things I want to do in the film world, or maybe I'll just do something else entirely."

The 43-year-old actor who claimed his fame through the Charlie Salinger role on "Party of Five" went on to say, "I've done almost 300 hours of [TV]." He elaborated further, "It's been two really great experiences between Party of Five and Lost. I'm ready to take it to the next step and see what I can do in that [film] world."

"Lost" will enter its final season on Tuesday, February 2 with an episode titled "LA X". Directed by executive producer Jack Bender, the episode will deal with the aftermath of the hydrogen bomb detonation at the end of previous episode "The Incident".
