Upon learning that she and the 'Julie and Julia' star were nominated for the 82nd Annual Academy Awards, the leading actress of 'The Blind Side' confesses of the playful competition between them.
Hours after she was announced to be on the run for Best Actress at the 82nd Annual Academy Awards along with
Meryl Streep,
Sandra Bullock confessed she and the "
Julie & Julia" star have been exchanging threatening messages. The star of "
The Blind Side" unraveled their playful competition in an interview with the Associated Press on Tuesday, February 2.
"With Meryl, when this whole thing started, I left her a voice mail going, 'You've got to watch your back. I'm gonna cut you. I'm gonna take you down,' " the 45-year-old first gushed. She then unveiled how her fellow Oscars nominee reacted, "And then she sent me dead orchids and told me to die, so I sent her a case of liquor and told her to toast to white trash."
All the jokes aside, the actress who raised eyebrows when she gave Streep a smooch when sharing Best Actress kudo at the Critics' Choice Awards has nothing but praises for her fellow nominees. "You have to enjoy being with these women that you admire or love or like or have had friendships with or are just getting to know because you've got to take care of each other," she expressed her thought.
"No one, at least the people that I've met, no one cares about the end result or the statue," the wife of Jesse James elaborated. "It's being able to sit in close proximity with these ladies ... and we have to go through this whole rigamarole and we just all look at each other and we get to know each other and you laugh at the absurdity of it all and how they pit women up against each other."
While Sandra Bullock has won a number of coveted kudos this award season and is the front-runner for 2010 Oscars, she also landed a Worst Actress nomination at the 30th Annual Razzie Awards for "
All About Steve". Of the nod, she told USA Today, "If I win, I am so showing up. I have to enjoy that as much as getting an Oscar nomination. It is the great balance in our business."
