Ticked off by the questions over his drinking past and notorious anti-Semetic rant, the leading man of 'Edge of Darkness' calls the reported quizzing him 'a**hole' on television.
Mel Gibson has made headlines once again as he snapped on television at reporter interviewing him. On Wednesday, February 3, the 54-year-old actor/director was captured on camera quipping the word "a**hole" at Dean Richards after the entertainment reporter for Chicago's WGN-TV threw a few questions related to his troubled past.
Out to promote his upcoming drama thriller "Edge of Darkness", the director of "The Passion of the Christ" was infuriated when Richards moved onto more personal matters. "Do you think the public will perceive you any differently after all that's been in the news about you?" the reporter first asked before pointing to his 2006 DUI case and anti-semitic tirade.
After an uncomfortable silence, Gibson lashed, "That's almost four years ago, dude. I've done all the necessary mea culpas. Let's move on." As Richards wrapped the interview up by announcing the release date of "Edge of Darkness", the boyfriend of Oksana Grigorieva took a sip of his coffee, gave the reporter a thumb up and said his goodbye before uttering "a**hole".
Mel Gibson was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving back in 2006. During his arrest, he was reportedly made anti-Semitic comments at his Jewish arresting officer. "Fucking Jews," he allegedly said at the time. "Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world. Are you a Jew?" Later on, he apologized for the rant, saying it "just the stupid rambling of a drunkard".
