On a revealing Q and A session on Twitter, the bassist of the rock band reveals to fans that he 'can't imagine playing in FOB again.'
Although nothing is official regarding the fate of
Fall Out Boy just yet, the band's bassist
Pete Wentz seems to be sure that he is done with the band and is not going to take the stage along with them anymore. He recently made use of his Twitter account to conduct an impromptu Q&A with FOB fans and started speaking openly about his future with the band.
"I can't imagine playing in FOB again," Wentz shared, adding that "Something would have to change in my head or my heart...not my wallet." Asked by a fan what made him change his mind about the band, he replied, "I didn't want you to hang on a string. [At the] same time, if it happens, [I] don't want to feel like a liar. [The band] might happen without me."
Unwilling to mislead the band's fans into thinking that FOB is over, Wentz wrote on his blog that he doesn't know the future of Fall Out Boy, except that they are currently on a break. He further explained that although he doesn't have a solo project, he also can't predict he'd "ever play in Fall Out Boy again, not due to personal relationships as much as [that as] a band we grew apart."
"In this statement I'd like to include there is the possibility that FOB will play again without me, or I will be a part of it when everyone is on the same page. It is no one's fault, and there is no animosity about the decision," his statement read further. "I felt as fans, you deserve to know. There is no singular reason for this. The side projects or bands are supported by all members of the band. I am the single biggest fan of FOB and if this is our legacy, then so be it. I am proud of it."
The members of Fall Out Boy, Island Records and their management team have yet to comment on Pete Wentz' statements and and on what is the status of the band currently. Drummer Andy Hurley, however, wrote on his Twitter page stating, "Nothing is official. I have no idea what's going to happen. That's the most direct answer I can give."
