While the leading man of 'Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief' states that he is in talks to play Peter Parker in the reboot, Columbia Pictures and his camp are quick to deny it.

Logan Lerman is yet to be in discussions to star as young Peter Parker in the "Spider-Man" reboot. Setting the record straight were Columbia Pictures and the actor's camp, The Hollywood Reporter (THR) pointed out.
Of the speculation brought up by the 18-year-old himself, a studio spokesman said, "No offers have been made, nor have any business discussions been made with Lerman." The camp of the "
3:10 to Yuma" actor also came out with similar statement, confirming that there are no business discussions being held at this time. Though so, THR did noted that Lerman is on the list of potential actors.
Lerman sparked speculation of him being a leading candidate for the untitled Spider-Man reboot when he told Access Hollywood's Billy Bush on Thursday, February 4, "There have been a few discussions, it's definitely something I'm looking into." During the interview, he admitted, "It's one of my favorite characters ever and I'm a huge fan of the series."
The Simon Silverton of "
Gamer" additionally mentioned that the talks are still in preliminary stage. "It's just, you know, conversations are starting. It's a long process with the studio and the producers and everything. But it's definitely a project that I'm really interested in, of course," he said. "I'd love to focus on the human element a little bit more. It'd be such a fun experience."
Logan Lerman will be seen in U.S. theaters as demigod Percy Jackson when "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief" opens across the country on February 12. In the adaptation of Rick Riordan's novel series, he is supported by
Pierce Brosnan,
Uma Thurman,
Sean Bean and
Rosario Dawson among many others.
