Brushing off the harsh criticism, the 'Pirates of the Caribbean Saga' actress suggests 'you have to be selective about the people whose advice and opinions you take'.
Having earned the Academy Awards as well as the Golden Globe Awards nomination for Best Actress doesn't stop
Keira Knightley from being regarded as a bad actress. In a recent interview with Elle Magazine, the 24-year-old actress revealed that critics still have some harsh words about her performance by calling her a "s**t actress".
When discussing criticism toward her acting skills, the "Pirates of the Caribbean" beauty exclaimed, "Oh, they still say that!" She went on to share what she still has to deal with, "Every time I do an interview with the English press, one of their questions is, 'How do you feel knowing that everyone thinks you're a s**t actress?' "
Though so, the "
Atonement" actress brushed off the harsh criticism by saying that everybody needs to be selective when it comes about taking one's opinion or advice. "I know [my parents] would never tell me I was s**t because they were trying to hurt me. It would always come from a very sincere place," she added her statement for Elle's March, which is set to hit the U.S. shelves on February 16.
Keira Knightley received nominations for the Academy Awards and Golden Globe Awards in 2005 for her performance as Elizabeth Bennet in "
Pride and Prejudice". The girlfriend of English actor
Rupert Friend was once again nominated for the Globes for her performance in "Atonement", which also brought her a BAFTA nomination.
