Kara DioGuardi Talks Getting Naked on 'American Idol'

Stripping down to her bikini in the March issue of Maxim magazine, Kara jokes about what she will do to top last season of 'AI' where she showed off her bikini body on live television.

Having stripped down to her bikini on live television during season 9 finale of "American Idol", Kara DioGuardi quipped there is a chance she'll get down to her birthday suit this season. The 39-year-old told the March issue of Maxim magazine, "Um, get naked?" when asked how she'll top her duet with Bikini Girl.

Though she was the one pitching in the idea in the first place, the Grammy-nominated songwriter was quick to shoot down any possibility of her baring all on the show. "But that could actually have the opposite effect, so I think I'll keep my clothes on... I would say that was definitely the first time... and probably the last," she said.

Nudity aside, Kara also recalled on how she ended up as an "AI" judge. "They were looking for a fourth judge, and they wanted to add someone who was in the industry," she told Maxim. "Plus, I'm known to be ballsy and outspoken. They knew I wouldn't clam up and go under the desk. Although I did want to, believe me!"

Asked whether fellow judge Simon Cowell gets flirty with her on the show. "I don't think I'm his type," she said. "Ryan Seacrest flirts with me more than Simon does." Moreover, she discussed the joining of Ellen DeGeneres, saying "The thing with Ellen I don't think everybody understands is that she's a huge music lover. That's what you need to be on Idol."

Kara DioGuardi got the chance to show off her bikini body once again in the March issue of Maxim, which will be on U.S. newsstands February 23. The photos capturing her in several playful poses were taken by photographer Chris McPherson and can be found on Maxim.
