Though the 'Manos al Aire' hitmaker and the 'U Want Me 2' singer have yet to announce their involvement for the opening ceremony, they were spotted at the rehearsal on Wednesday, February 10.
Although program details for the 2010 Winter Olympics have yet to be disclosed,
Nelly Furtado and
Sarah McLachlan are likely to perform at the event's opening ceremony. The Toronto Sun reported that the two singers have been spotted coming to the dress rehearsal on Wednesday night, February 10.
Sharing more details, a source who attended the rehearsal added that Furtado was seen performing a duet with
Bryan Adams, while McLachlan was seen belting out a song solo. It was reported that the 31-year-old Latin singer and the 42-year-old country songstress took the stage in front of as many as 50,000 people, who consisted of sponsors and volunteers.
Nelly Furtado, Sarah McLachlan and Bryan Adams weren't the only performers spotted on Wednesday night. Joining them at the rehearsal was k.d. lang. In the meantime, several other performers, such as
Rush and Nikki Yanofsky, are expected to lend their voices as well at the opening ceremony.
The XXI Olympic Winter Games will be held on February 12 to February 28 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Its opening ceremony will be held at B.C. Place Stadium starting 6 P.M. PST/9 P.M. EST and will be broadcast by NBC. The new star-studded "We are the World" video for Haiti earthquake relief is slated to make its debut during the show.
