Despite the negative reviews she received for directorial debut 'Filth and Wisdom', the '4 Minutes' will get behind the lens once again to direct Vera Farmiga in 'W.E.'
Madonna apparently has set her eyes on "
W.E." for her second directorial job, Variety reported. Having made her directorial debut with "
Filth and Wisdom", the "Candy Shop" singer will continue her foray in the movie industry helming the biopic about the affair between King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson.
Like what she did for "Filth and Wisdom", the 51-year-old singer will also provide the screenplay. For this project, she will team up with "
Truth or Dare" director Alex Keshishian in the scripting department. There is a chance that she will direct "
Up in the Air" star
Vera Farmiga as the later is eyeing the role of Simpson.
"W.E." will chronicle the romance between the England's king and the American socialite. The affair caused the king to give up the throne in order for him to marry the two-time divorcee. The couple lived the rest of their lives as the the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, and became celebrities around the world. No actor has been linked to the Edward role.
While the movie will be Madonna's second effort in directing a feature film. Movie industry isn't something new for the ex-wife of director Guy Ritchie. She has starred in a number of movies, including "A League of Their Own", "Swept Away" and "Evita". The latter movie earned her a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress.
