Representative for the former star of 'Lizzie McGuire' has confirmed that the 22-year-old songstress accepted her NHL star boyfriend's proposal while they were vacationing in Hawaii.
Hilary Duff could be expected to head down the aisle in the near future. The actress who recently made a recurring appearance as Olivia Burke on "Gossip Girl" has got engaged to her boyfriend of more than two years, NHL star Mike Comrie, in Hawaii. Confirming the happy news was her representative Nanci Ryder.
On Friday, February 19, Nanci uncovered that Comrie got down on one knee and proposed the 22-year-old songstress during their recent vacation. "Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie were engaged this weekend while vacationing in Hawaii," her statement read. "After having been together for over two years, they are very excited to share this happy news. They are thankful for all of your warm wishes."
Hilary Duff began dating Mike Comrie in 2007 when he was with the New York Islanders. Early in their courtship, the former star of "Lizzie McGuire" was surprised by the now-Edmonton Oilers player with a Mercedes bought for her 20th birthday. She was often seen cheering on her beau at his games, while he is a frequent fixture at her film press events and shoots.
In 2009, Hilary shared to Us magazine on what she thinks of her boyfriend. "He's a great guy," she said. "I've never met anyone who could say a bad word about him. He's generous, caring, funny. We just laugh our heads off, which I need in my life ... He's unique. I wouldn't want to be with someone who wasn't unique."
