Slamming marriage reports, a source close to the 'Defiance' actor insists that the rings worn by the couple on their wedding fingers are nothing but symbols of their commitment to each other.

Cold water has been poured over swirling reports suggesting that Daniel Craig had secretly married his longtime girlfriend Satsuki Mitchell. Slamming the false rumor was a source close to the 41-year-old English actor, who recently assured Gossip Cop that the two remain unmarried contrary to recent speculation.

Providing more detail, the source went on to explain that the rings worn by both the current James Bond depicter and his 30-year-old film producer girlfriend are nothing but symbols of their commitment to each other. The insider then stressed that the gold bands do not represent any new official or legal status.

Rumor that the two had been secretly married was first brought up by The Daily Mail. On February 21, the publication reported that the "Quantum of Solace" actor as well as his girlfriend of six years have been spotted wearing a gold band on their ring finger as they held hands when they left an "Artist for Peace and Justice" meeting in Brentwood, California. The publication pointed out that he was seen wearing the same ring during the "Hope for Haiti Telethon" in January.

While a spokesman for the star of "The Golden Compass" insisted that it was a "private matter", a source came out with a revelation suggesting the couple had already tied the knot. "We all suspect they have got married," the source told the publication. "He has always said Satsuki is the one but he didn't want a big showbiz wedding, that would be his worst nightmare. He's very private."

Daniel Craig met Satsuki Mitchell on the set of 2005's "The Jacket", in which he starred alongside Keira Knightley and Adrien Brody. Before romancing Mitchell, the actor who first tackled his James Bond role in "Casino Royale" was in a relationship with German actress Heike Makatsch. He was also previously married to Fiona Loudon, with whom he has a daughter named Ella.
