Mike Comrie's Proposal to Hilary Duff Caught on Camera

Several pictures capture the NHL star getting down on one knee on the balcony of their Four Seasons Resort room as he asked for the former 'Lizzie McGuire' star's hand in marriage.

Hilary Duff has on February 19 confirmed her engagement to hockey player boyfriend Mike Comrie without disclosing any details, but several newly-released pictures have uncovered the actual proposal. Some photos capture that the NHL star got down on one knee on the balcony of their room at the Four Seasons Resort in Maui on Thursday, February 18.

Those pictures expose that Hilary was caught by surprise by the marriage proposal as well. One other photo in particular show the 22-year-old songstress sharing her happy news to others. In the picture, she was seen standing on the balcony while texting photos of her engagement ring to friends and family.

Sister Haylie Duff shared to People magazine that the "According to Greta" actress was "completely surprised" by the proposal. On February 20 before having her birthday bash at Hard Rock Hotel's Vanity Nightclub in Las Vegas, she said, "I don't think that happens all the time. I think most of the time people figure it out or have some idea that it's going to happen, and I think it's great he was able to do a surprise like that for her."

Hilary Duff began dating Mike Comrie in 2007 when he was with the New York Islanders. Early in their courtship, the former star of "Lizzie McGuire" was surprised by the now-Edmonton Oilers player with a Mercedes bought for her 20th birthday. She was often seen cheering on her beau at his games, while he is a frequent fixture at her film press events and shoots.
