Discussing about her follow-up effort to debut album 'Kiss and Tell', the star of 'Wizards of Waverly Place' shares what she has in mind for the new set and with whom she would love to collaborate.
Having spawned a pop record with debut album "Kiss and Tell",
Selena Gomez plan to give a new twist to her sophomore effort. In a recent interview with MTV News, the leading lady of "Wizards of Waverly Place" revealed that she wants her second studio album to be a bit funkier and a bit edgier with a touch of reggae sound.
"We were gonna do a deluxe edition of my album, but we started on some songs, so we figured, 'Why not? Let's just go for a second one,' " the 17-year-old Disney star first recalled what she supposed to do before moving on developing the new set. She then teased, "It's kind of different - older - and it's kind of got, like, a reggae sound."
Admitting that the album is still in the early stages, the Carter Mason of "
Princess Protection Program" went on to name those she would love to collaborate with. "Well, I want to work with the producers who did 'Naturally' [Antonina Armato, Tim James and Devrim Karaoglu]. They are so sweet," she stated.
Those three producers weren't the only ones she mentioned when asked about possible collaborators. During the interview, she also said she would love to work with Dr. Luke, the producer who works on
Katy Perry's "I Kissed a Girl" and
Ke$ha's "Tik Tok". "I'd love to work with Dr. Luke. I think he's awesome," she praised him.
Selena Gomez recorded her first studio album "Kiss and Tell" with her band The Scene. Released on September 29, 2009, the debut effort is dominated with pop-rock songs and debuted at #9 on the Billboard 200 after selling 66,000 copies in the first week. It has brought out two singles, "Falling Down" and "Naturally".
