Despite earlier reports that the album is in jeopardy following her split from Epic Records, the 40-year-old songstress announces that the album will still be released this summer.
Although she has parted ways with her music label Sony Music Epic Records,
Jennifer Lopez has recently announced that her seventh studio album "Love?" is not being scrapped. A spokesperson for the 40-year-old singer-slash-actress came out with a statement that her album instead is set to be released in the U.S. this summer.
Lopez began her statement by stating that she and Sony Music Epic Records have reached friendly terms. "I am making this statement to put an end to any confusion in regards to my next album, titled 'Love,'" she began her statement, as quoted by Billboard.com. "I have belonged to the Sony family since the beginning of my career as a singer and together we've had great success."
"I have fulfilled my contractual responsibilities with Sony/Epic up to this point, and we have both reached friendly terms about my departure from the label," the statement further read. The wife of
Marc Anthony added, "I'm also happy to say that we've found a new home for my album, 'Love,' and that it is slated for release in the summer of 2010."
Jennifer Lopez was reported earlier that she with her music label Sony Music Epic Records. Deadline Hollywood reported that the 40-year-old singer came out with the decision following a "heart-to-heart" conversation with CEO Rob Stringer at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills during the Grammys week.
While she hasn't revealed the name of the record label she will be working with, the singer reportedly has set sight on her future label. She was said to be in talks to sign a deal with Island Def Jam, which is the home for the likes as
Mariah Carey and
Rihanna. Words are, she has met the label's CEO L.A. Reid at the Grammys after-party.
