The February 24 filming, involving the two actors, reportedly has to be brought to a brief stop when a fight broke out between a security guard on the set of The CW's series and a paparazzi.
Blake Lively has returned to the Lower East Side of Manhattan on Wednesday, February 24 to film scenes for an upcoming episode of "Gossip Girl". Donning a double-breasted, mini-skirt and ankle boot, the 22-year-old actress was joined by guest star William Baldwin who portrays Serena van der Woodsen's estranged father.
While the photos taken from the set didn't show any interruption during the filming, it was reported that a fight between a security guard on the set and a paparazzi has halted the production momentarily. Before the fight broke, a group of photographers assembled around the set. When the photogs ignored repeated requests to step back, tension between the guards and the photographers grew.
A violent confrontation finally burst forth when a snapper threw a racist slur towards a guard. "The paparazzi were persistently ignoring the security and production staff, and the scene erupted. I clearly saw an exchange of verbal and physical blows," an eyewitness told WENN about the incident. Police were called, but no one decided to press charges. The filming resumed in the afternoon.
"Gossip Girl" is currently on hiatus. The CW's popular series will return to small screen on March 8 with an episode titled "Jenny, Full of Grace". William Baldwin himself will make his guest-starring appearance as Dr. William van der Woodsen on the April 26 episode. The actor previously shared his thought on his role as Blake Lively's on-screen father, saying "Three years ago I would have been playing the older man in her life and now, all of a sudden, I'm playing her dad."
