In addition to the footage shared, the brand new featurette gets the two leading actors discussing about the basis of this modern-day take on 'Beauty and the Beast'.
Another look into Vanessa Hudgens and Alex Pettyfer's relationship in the upcoming "Beastly" has been shared through a brand new featurette. Courtesy of MyCoke, the promo video presents background story on the life of Pettyfer's Kyle Kingson before the curse and how he fights to win the heart of Hudgens' Lindy to break the curse.
In addition to the footage, this featurette also includes interview with the two stars. Each of them takes turn in describing their characters and the fun they had working on the film. Hudgens, in particular, detailed that her character "is the girl in school who goes unnoticed but of course has a crush on the popular guy [Kyle]. As soon as he changes, he starts to take note in her."
A modern take on the classic tale of "Beauty and the Beast", "Beastly" follows Kyle Kingson, a handsome rich kid with a mean streak. His life is turned upside down when a curse, which is placed upon him after he ditches a date, turns him into everything he hates. Now, he is left with the seemingly impossible task of finding true love to break the ugly spell.
Based on Alex Flinn's young-adult novel, the fantasy movie is set in Manhattan. "Phoebe in Wonderland" helmer Daniel Barnz takes the role of the film's director, while Mary-Kate Olsen plays Kendra Hilferty, the girl behind Kyle's grotesque transformation. CBS Films will release this movie in theaters across the U.S. on July 30.
