Naomi Campbell Wanted by Police for Attacking Limo Driver

The British supermodel known for her temper is said to have fleed the scene after allegedly slapping and punching her hired driver in midtown Manhattan.

Naomi Campbell may find herself in hot water with the police once again due to her famous temper. According to reports, the British supermodel is wanted for questioning by the New York Police Department after the driver she hired claimed to have been slapped and punched in the face in mid-town Manhattan on Tuesday, March 2.

NBC New York reported that shortly after 3 P.M., the 39-year-old model became enraged with her driver and started to hit him with a cell phone from the back seat. NYPD spokesman Paul Browne stated that the chauffeur then pulled his black Cadillac Escalade over to the curb at 58th Street and Second Avenue to inform authorities. Before officers arrived however, she has fled the scene.

Following the incident, the driver who was reportedly left with "bumps and bruises" spoke to investigators at the 17th precinct on East 51st Street. Cambell's personal assistant has also talked to the investigators. Police are currently looking for Campbell to question her about the incident and consider charging her.

Campbell's spokesman Jeff Raymond was quick to issue a statement in response to the alleged attack claim, insisting that the model would voluntarily co-operate with police. "There shouldn't be a rush to judgment," the rep said. "Naomi will cooperate voluntarily, and there is more to the story than meets the eye."

This is not the first time Naomi Campbell was accused of violent behavior. In 2006, she was charged with misdemeanor assault after throwing a crystal-studded BlackBerry at her maid Ana Scolavino. She had to serve two days of anger management classes and five days of community service cleaning up Sanitation offices for the incident. In 2008, she was sentenced to 200 hours of community service for assaulting two police officers in London's Heathrow airport.
