The star of 'The Notebook' will be starring as Carell's charming best friend in the untitled feature project about a father dealing with a marital crisis.

Ryan Gosling will star in another comedy project. According to Variety, the 29-year-old actor has been signed to star opposite funny man
Steve Carell in the yet-titled comedy film about a father dealing with a marital crisis.
In this untitled Steve Carell project, the Noah Calhoun of "
The Notebook" will be showing off his charms as he takes the role of Carell's suave best friend. His co-star Carell, in the meantime, will portray a man who faces problems in life as he unsuccessfully tries to manage his relationship with his children.
Screenwriters behind "
I Love You Phillip Morris", John Requa and Glenn Ficarra, will direct this feature project for Warner Bros. using a spec script written by "
Bolt" scribe Dan Fogelman. Denise Di Novi and Steve Carell's Carousel banner will produce with Charlie Hartsock and Vance DeGeneres exec producing.
In addition to this comedy movie, Ryan Gosling has two other feature projects waiting for release. The "
Half Nelson" star will be seen starring opposite
Michelle Williams in Derek Cianfrance's relationship drama "
Blue Valentine". He will also appeared in mystery romance "
All Good Things" where he gets to star alongside
Kirsten Dunst.
