Michael Bryan, the adopted son of the 'Paper Roses' singer, has been laid to rest in Provo, Utah on Monday, March 8 following an emotional private funeral.
Marie Osmond has said her final goodbye to her 18-year-old son Michael Bryan, who tragically ended his life on February 26, with a performance. Near the end of a private funeral held on Monday, March 8 in Provo, Utah, the 50-year-old singer/actress joined all of her brothers in singing the closing hymn, "God Be with You Till We Meet Again."
Before belting out the solemn tune, the member of The Osmonds addressed about 450 mourners who gathered at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel for the service. "I'd just like to say thank you to everybody," she said. "As you see I have amazing support from great men, my family, my brothers."
"God was very wise when he put me into a family with honorable men because they have served as examples for my children," Marie explained before adding that she wanted to use the occasion to honor her children. "I'm so proud of each and every one of you," she said. "I'm proud of my son and I honor his birth mother who's here today, who gave me the greatest gift. Thank you for those beautiful 18 years."
During the service, Marie's six surviving children also paid tribute to Michael. Eldest son Stephen Craig in particular said, "He was an intricate part of our family. Each member of our family and every person here is better for having met him." Sister Rachel Blosil chimed in, "He was a man of his word. He wasn't a talker, he was a doer. He was reliable. He knew my hopes, he knew my dreams, my secrets, things that nobody knows. He was my best friend."
Following the emotional ceremony, Michael's body which was laid inside a silver coffin was interred at the East Lawn Memorial Hills Cemetery in Provo. E! News reported, mourners wrote messages to the first-year student of apparel manufacturing at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising on orange balloons and released them into the sky once they arrived at his final resting place.
One of Marie Osmond's seven children with ex-husband Brian Blosil, Michael Bryan leaped to his death from the eighth floor of the building on Friday night, February 26. Moments before, he sent a text message to a friend informing her about a note he left behind. Autopsy has been completed, but his cause of death is still being listed as "deferred" since it is still pending on the results of toxicology tests.
