On 'Good Morning America' telecast, 'Dancing with the Stars' host Tom Bergeron announces that the TV personality and season 7 champion is the one chosen to replace Samantha Harris.
When season 10 of "Dancing with the Stars" is kicked off on March 22,
Brooke Burke will be reporting for duty. During the Monday, March 8 telecast of "Good Morning America", ABC announced through host Tom Bergeron that the champion of season 7 is the new co-host of the dancing competition.
"Brooke Burke is my new co-host as Samantha Harris has gone on to more of her responsibilities at The Insider and [Entertainment Tonight]," Bergeron stated when making the revelation. He then added, "She'll be able to talk to the couples backstage with the perspective of having been through it herself." Burke was not present during the announcement since she was still on vacation in Africa with her family.
Brooke Burke beat out competitions that included
Vanessa Minnillo, Melanie Brown and Melissa Rycroft for the co-hosting part. The 38-year-old TV personality has a lot of experience as emcee. She has hosted such shows as CBS' "Rock Star: INXS" and "Rock Star: Supernova" as well as E!'s "Wild On".
Back in February, the mother of four who won season 7 of "DWTS" with Derek Hough took it to her Twitter account to reveal she is on the run for the hosting job. "btw, the news about me hosting DWTS is true," she tweeted. "I am screen testing next week for the job, fingers crossed! It would be amazing 2 be back!"
