Just one day after laying to rest her 18-year-old son in Utah, the 'Paper Roses' singer makes her return to the stage for a sold-out 'The Donny & Marie Show' at the Flamingo in Las Vegas.
Marie Osmond apparently doesn't want the grief of losing her 18-year-old son linger for too long. Just one day after a private funeral service for Michael Bryan took place in Provo, Utah, the "Paper Roses" hitmaker made her return to "The Donny & Marie Show" at the Flamingo in Las Vegas for a Tuesday, March 9 sold-out gig.
To E! News, show producer Chip Lightman explained that the 50-year-old performer has put into consideration the well-being of the crew in making the decision. "She's going back to work because it affects a lot of people when she doesn't work," he stated "There's over 100 people who work on the show, and Marie never wants to let people down so she's going back to work tonight."
Additionally, Lightman addressed possibility of the sister of
Donny Osmond having any sort of special tribute for her son during the show. "Nothing has been prescripted, but I think she is going to see how she feels," he told E! "Marie is the kind of person who goes with the moment. If she feels that she needs to, she will."
Michael Bryan, Marie's adopted son who died after leaping off his apartment on February 26, was on Monday, March 8. Near the end of a private funeral held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel, Marie joined all of her brothers in singing the closing hymn, "God Be with You Till We Meet Again."
Before the performance, the former contestant of "Dancing with the Stars" used the occasion to honor her other children. "I'm so proud of each and every one of you," she said, before adding, "I'm proud of my son and I honor his birth mother who's here today, who gave me the greatest gift. Thank you for those beautiful 18 years."
