Series creator Shonda Rhimes reportedly has agreed to release Dr. Izzie Stevens depicter from her contract, but ABC and the actress' representatives still have to work out final exit agreement.
Katherine Heigl is getting closer and to closer to be discharged from "Grey's Annatomy". According to Entertainment Weekly, series creator Shonda Rhimes has agreed to release the actress who plays Dr. Izzie Stevens on the show from her contract, and a final exit agreement is being discussed by ABC and her representatives.
After taking three months of absence to connect with her adopted daughter as well as to focus on her film career, the 31-year-old was actually scheduled to make her return to the series' set on March 1 to work on the five remaining episodes of the season. However, when the date came around, she wasn't present on the set.
A source detailed that sometime last week, both the network and Heigl has come to a mutual decision to part ways right now instead of at the end of the season. Should the claim is true, the star of "
The Ugly Truth" is not expected to return to the set of "Grey's Anatomy" anymore and her final episode as Izzie has been aired.
Katherine Heigl took a temporary leave from the series after she and husband Josh Kelley adopted a special needs baby girl named Nancy Leigh from Korea. At the same time, the "
Knocked Up" beauty also concentrated on her feature film career. She has two upcoming movies, "
Life as We Know It" and "
Killers", on her sleeves.
