Joining the superhero-themed drama pilot for NBC, the Cameron of 'Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles' will aid the titular character in his quest to clear his name.
Summer Glau is heading back to the primetime. According to The Hollywood Reporter (THR), the 28-year-old TV actress has been tapped to star in "The Cape", a superhero-themed drama pilot for NBC. She will portray Orwell, a cute and intrepid investigative blogger who fearlessly goes after corrupt cops and costumed bad guys. Her character is said to be "quite capable of kicking ass".
The pilot is directed by Simon West and starred by David Lyons. It follows a former cop who after being framed and set up as a criminal, becomes a masked hero by the name of the Cape to clear his name. James Frain from "The Tudors" joined as a villain, and "Empire" scribbler Tom Wheeler wrote the pilot.
Summer Glau is best known as Cameron Phillips on "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" for which she received Best Supporting Television Actress award at the 34th Saturn Awards. She has also starred in several other sci-fi series, including "Firefly", "The 4400" and "Dollhouse". Next, she will be seen in Lifetime Movie Network's "Deadly Honeymoon".
