The Paul Morrison-directed drama wins Outstanding Film-Limited Release at the 21st annual GLAAD Media Awards in New York City, while 'Brothers and Sisters' receives Outstanding Drama Series.
Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) has, on Saturday, March 13, handed out 24 of this year's 32 kudos at the 21st Annual GLAAD Media Awards. During a presentation taking place at the Marriott Marquis in New York City, it was unraveled that "
Little Ashes" is among those receiving the honors.
The drama movie starring "Twilight Saga" heartthrob
Robert Pattinson won Outstanding Film in the category of Limited Release. The Paul Morrison-directed movie came out triumphant over four other indie movies, "
Phoebe in Wonderland", "
Casi Divas", "The Country Teacher" and "The Secrets".
Other winner announced on the night were ABC's "Brothers & Sisters", NBC's "Parks and Recreation" as well as "The Oprah Winfrey Show". "Brothers" was named Outstanding Drama Series and "Parks" got the nod for Outstanding Individual Episode, while "Oprah" won Outstanding Talk Show Episode.
GLAAD also honored Joy Behar with the Excellence in Media Award and
Cynthia Nixon with the Vito Russo Award during the gala ceremony. Additional awards will be presented in Los Angeles on April 17 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza, and in San Francisco on June 5 at the Westin St. Francis. Complete list of winners can be read at GLAAD's .
