Marie Osmond has once again decided to take a break from her Las Vegas gigs. The 50-year-old singer has scrapped the remaining shows she is scheduled to perform with brother
Donny Osmond at the Flamingo in Las Vegas this week.
Explaining the reason behind the cancellation, her representative Alan Nierob told People magazine, "She needs to spend more time with her family. She's still processing everything and it's really rough on her." The "Paper Roses" singer and her brother are expected to resume their variety acts next Tuesday, March 23.
Marie Osmond made a comeback to the stage on March 9, a day after saying her last goodbye to her 18-year-old son, Michael Blosil, in a . Paying tribute Michael during the show, she told the crowd, "The way Osmonds survive is we keep singing. That's what we want to do tonight. I know my son would want that and this show is for him."
National Enquirer reported that Marie fought back tears during the concert and her grief finally caught up with her backstage as she collapsed into a chair. "Right after Marie got backstage, she shuddered and began to fall. Her knees buckled and she slumped into a chair," an insider recalled. Though so, she refused to stop the show.
Insider said that the star would let her assistants make a call for a physician. "Marie wouldn't let them," so the source claimed. "She said, 'No, I'm going to get through this. I owe it to Michael.' She collapsed because she was in the same place where she had learned of his death, backstage at the Flamingo."
