To star opposite Aly Michalka in The CW's pilot, the Sharpay Evans of 'High School Musical' series will take on the role of Sierra, the captain of college cheerleading team The Hellcats.
has just landed her first regular TV series gig with "Hellcats". The actress best known for her role as Sharpay Evans in the "High School Musical" series has been signed to portray Sierra, the captain of college cheerleading team The Hellcats, in The CW's pilot. She'll star opposite 78violet's Aly Michalka.
Described as "peppy and fiercely intense", Ashley's character will be seen having clash with Aly's Marti before realizing that she just might be the godsend the Hellcats need to win the championship. The 24-year-old and Aly are joined in the series by Gail O'Grady who takes on the role as Marti's mother.
"Hellcats" revolves around Marti, a college girl from the wrong side of the tracks who joins Sierra's team after losing her scholarship because of budget cutbacks and her mother's chronic irresponsibility. It is executive produced by
Tom Welling of "Smallville" and Kevin Murphy of "Caprica".
Aside from the "HSM" franchise, Ashley Tisdale has been seen in several other Disney Channel's series. She co-starred on the channel's comedy "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody" and provided a voice to Candace Flynn on "Phineas and Ferb". She was recently seen starring in "
Aliens in the Attic".
