Words on the street are, Marvel Studios has put out an offer to the Johnny Storm depicter for the role of Steve Rogers in 'The First Avenger: Captain America'.
Having been reported as one of the top contenders for the role of Captain America,
Chris Evans is getting closer and closer to topline "The First Avenger: Captain America". According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor known as Johnny Storm in "
Fantastic Four" franchise has been offered the part by Marvel Studios.
Should the story is proven true and Evans accepts the offer, he would be attached to don the red, white and blue costume in up to three "Captain America" movies in addition to "
The Avengers" and several other Marvel movies. Marvel is yet to confirm the casting possibility, and the actor's representative has declined to comment.
One possible complication could lie in his way to finalize the casting though. The "
Push" star is committed to co-star in
Anna Faris' romantic comedy "
What's Your Number?", which is scheduled to shoot this summer. If he agrees to do "The First Avenger", he could be having a clashing schedule since the superhero movie eyes to begin shooting in June.
Chris Evans was actually not included in the initial rounds of actors being considered for the part. The actor who will be seen in the upcoming "
The Losers" did not screen test like
John Krasinski and
Chace Crawford, but has been tossed in recently along with "
Tron Legacy" star
Garrett Hedlund.
