The planned 2011 launch of Rosie's new syndicated talk show reportedly will coincide with the exit of 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' from the small screen.
Rosie O'Donnell could be making her return to daytime TV. According to Showbiz 411, the former host of "The Rosie O'Donnell Show" has signed a deal with two old pals, syndication veterans Dick Robertson and Scott Carlin, for a brand new syndicated talk show.
O'Donnell and Robertson previously worked together on the Emmy-winning "O'Donnell Show". He is currently the advisor of Warner Bros. Domestic TV Distribution. Carlin, in the meantime, was part of the team that launched "O'Donnell Show". He worked for Robertson for almost two decades before leaving in 1999.
The new show which will be hosted by O'Donnell reportedly is eyeing a fall 2011 launch. Should the story is true, it will begin airing on small screen as
Oprah Winfrey's "The Oprah Winfrey Show" bows out. Gossip Cop claimed that this show is likely to follow the comedienne's current radio show format rather than her old talk show.
Rosie O'Donnell took a break from the comedy circuit in 1995. She went on to host "The Rosie O'Donnell Show", which collected Daytime Emmy Awards for the Outstanding Talk Show award every year between 1998 to 2002. In 2006, four years after she left the talk show, she joined "The View". Due to an internal conflict in 2007, she left her post and was replaced by
Whoopi Goldberg.
